Course General Objective B1.1
- The learner consolidates A2 foundations and advances toward independent communication beyond everyday topics such as work, education, health, official procedures, and travel. They use tenses (Präsens, Perfekt, Präteritum—especially with sein/haben and modal verbs) more fluently, while reinforcing Futur I and future reference with present + time markers.
- They expand sentence complexity with subordinate clauses (weil, dass, wenn), temporal connectors (als, während, seit/seitdem, bis), relative clauses (der/die/das), and comparative/superlative forms for sharper descriptions.
- The learner can write semi-formal or formal emails, make simple complaints and requests, and produce short narratives and experience reports.
- Pronunciation improves in sentence melody, stress, and syllabification; in listening and reading, they can summarize main ideas and respond appropriately.
Course General Objective B1.2
- The learner gathers information from various sources (announcements, emails, brief news items, brochures) and engages in connected conversations using cause–effect links, as well as patterns for comparison, exemplification, and justification.
- Their connector repertoire expands (obwohl, trotzdem, deswegen, daher, außerdem, sowohl … als auch, weder … noch). They gain familiarity with the present passive, are introduced to reported speech, and use Konjunktiv II for polite requests and hypotheses more naturally.
- They write connected texts such as job applications, appointment confirmations, returns/complaints, and can deliver short presentations (2–3 minutes).
- In listening and reading, they extract details (numbers, dates, conditions), summarize effectively, and expand thematic vocabulary significantly.
